I would pay good money for a longer aftermarket sidestand!

Seriously ... good money!

With my 19" front wheel and big knobbies, my RX3 just about falls over on anything less than level pavement. I modded a Vstrom sidestand foot to fit, but it fell off during a ride last weekend and I am seriously bummed.

Before I buy another overpriced metal hockey puck that I have to modify to make it work ... I thought I'd ask if anyone knows about an aftermarket sidestand that's longer than stock and is preferably lighter, and has a big foot base.

Ecomouse designed one last year, but not sure where that ended up. Any interest in this if he makes a bunch? or if we find another fabricator?

I raised the rear end with a "monoshock extension", a piece designed to fit over the top mounting point of the shock. That was to avoid my largish rear Wheel (120/90/17 Metzeler Tourance) to scrap the lower part of the airbox. Also went with a 19' front Wheel. Had to extend the side stand in order to not tip over to the left: cut it, fitted a small iron tube over the cut, welded with my hobby grade arc welding machine, and painted black. Also added a small metal plate with a bolt in order to give it more foot print.

So I just googled RX3 sidestand and look what popped up from CSC

http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/Billet...p/csc-5001.htm

I honestly would prefer a longer sidestand, but this would at least solve the tiny footprint without having to mod a foot made for another brand.

But I still want to know ... anyone besides me want a longer sidestand?

Can't help with the longer stand, as mine is almost too long after Rojo lower the bike... I do have Yoo's foot plate though.

Something like that would be awesome. Maybe I could find a machinist to do something like that for me.

I emailed CSC just now asking about a longer sidestand ... and if the TT250 sidestand would do the trick (assuming it fits).

Larger kickstand pad AND added height

I made a larger pad for the kickstand and added 1/2-inch in height. Just about perfect and it was all scraps I had lying around!

Here are the photos:

With some scrap 1/2" aluminum and a mill...:

This is the end result:

larger footprint is helpful. The CSC item will probably do the same.

Detours, how much longer do you need it?

Have you considered bolting on a hockey puck to the bottom of the sidestand?
