2006 Q-Link X-Ranger 200 Info and specs?

hey guys well today i traded my 2010 baja 150 four wheeler to a guy for his 2006 Q-Link 200 it runs pretty good but the body is pretty rough shape an theres no title but thats not a big deal i was wanting a dike bike/ project bike anyways since i already have my 2007 komoto 250 for my street bike. i hear good things about this bikes but i was curious what motor they are cloned from, it seems to be the yamaha tw200 but i wasn't 100% sure or not if someone should give me alittle info and or some modds they have done that would be great. my main idea and plan is to turn it into a flat track racing bike or just use it for a trail/ dirtbike.

The QLink X-Ranger 200 is the same bike as my Zongshen 200GY-2. You can learn about modifications, and maintenance for your bike by reading the threads posted in the Zong Sticky, located at the top of this Dual Sport Forum.

Except for a shorter countershaft, your X-Ranger has an engine identical to the currently manufactured, Yamaha TW200 motorcycle. You bike also employs the same carburetor and air box as the TW200. You got a good motorcycle. Change the engine oil regularly, and adjust the valve clearance periodically, and your X-Ranger will give you many happy miles of riding. My Zongshen 200GY-2 just surpassed 45,000 miles on the odometer.

Incidentally, you can also learn a lot about the engine, carburetor, and exhaust system on your bike by reading the posts in the TW200 forum.

How many miles are on the odometer? You can drop a lot of weight from you bike, and gain some power, by installing an FMF Universal Spark Arrestor.

ok ill try an keep you posted on what goes on an post some pics and yea i was thinking about getting rid of that exhaust it so bulkly and huge i dont think i have seen a exhuast this big before on a bike!

An hey would you happen to know any places I would be able to get plastic for it cause im missing a front fender an a left side panel an then my headlight an gas tank shroud an the rear tail plastics mounting tabs are broken

Those items sound like good opportunities for upgrades. You can easily find a dual sport headlight at places like Bike Bandit, Motorcycle Superstore or Rocky Mountain ATV MC. Motorcycle Superstore recently had some Polisport front fenders on sale for $5.00! I bought a YZ250 fender and a generic Supermoto fender while the prices were so low.

Spud swapped his tank for a Clarke tank. He had to do some modifications, because at the time there was no Clarke tank available for the TW200. There is now, so it would almost be a bolt-on deal, with much greater fuel capacity.

I know it would (almost) be a bolt-on tank, because Spud sent his old Zong tank to me, and I'm using it on my TW200 with only a little trimming of the mounting tab.

The stock exhaust system weighs 11 pounds. :roll: I dropped 7 pounds from the bike by installing a stainless steel, XT225 exhaust header, and an FMF Universal Spark Arrestor.

Incidentally, the Suzuki DR200SE has a muffler which looks suspiciously like the Zong's muffler.

I agree with Weldangrind. You have a chance to upgrade the fender with a Polisport Universal Supermoto Fender, in the color of your choice. You can get the left side panel, headlight shroud, tailpiece, and gas tank shrouds from Zongshen America, or Taobao.

As Weld suggested, you can replace the Zongshen headlight. However, as FastDoc and several others can corroborate, the stock headlight illuminates the highway very well with an H4 headlight conversion. I am reluctant to switch from the stock headlight for this reason.

If the 2-gallon, stock fuel tank is large enough, I would keep it also, and replace the fuel tank shroud. The larger, aftermarket, TW200 fuel tank will fit, but it might require more fabrication than you want to undertake. The TW200 fuel tank is about 3/4-inch shorter than the Zongshen fuel tank. Also, the TW200 fuel tank will not match the contours of your Zongshen saddle, leaving a big air gap between the tank and the saddle.

If you want a larger, aftermarket fuel tank, I recommend the Clarke, XT225 fuel tank, which I installed on my Zong. It looks great, matches the saddle contour, and offers a much larger capacity than the Clarke, TW220 fuel tank.

Doc, you commented to me that the H4 bulb in the Zongshen headlight illuminated the road better than the Baja Designs headlight on my XR650L. The Baja Designs headlight is noted for it's excellent light pattern. However, I think you are correct; the Zongshen headlight does an even better job with an H4 bulb!
