Vitacci Venom f1 howlet starter

i removed starter yesterday and when i pulled it out i heard a plink into the right side if the crankcase and not sure what fell off i was under assumption starter was one piece that goes into the flywheel. now when i go to start it it just makes a whirring sound. wondering if anyone can help me fic this issue as its my only way to school

Sounds like the gear fell off the starter
