I only saw a corner of Alberta but what I saw was amazing.

You saw the best corner Doc, the rest of the province is pretty flat and not nearly as scenic

Canada is just beautiful. I've seen Jasper on youtube and it looks spectacular. Weren't you tempted to take Ducati? Thanks for taking us on your journey.

You and I seem to be so much alike that I figured you'd really enjoy Nelson and Jasper. I'm glad that you liked both spots. Did you see any wildlife in the town of Jasper?

I WAS tempted, and there were many times I wish I had it on the twisty, smooth, fast, wide open, RCMP free roads in the mountains but....

2,400 miles on even a comfortable Ducati is still way too many! Especially when I have a Gold WIng.

Also, bring a cheap (frugal) bastard I figure the economics. The tires on the Ducati cost about $400 (mounted and balanced) and last about 3,000 miles. The Gold Wing tires cost about $300 and last about 16,000 miles.

The valves on the Ducati need checking and the bike needs a service every 6,000 miles and that can cost about $1,000 or more. The Gold Wing gets checked every 36,000 miles and costs half that. The Gold Wing is also infinatly comfortable, and very very fast in its own right.

Plus, at the speeds Sophia likes to travel, I'd wind up in some Canadian jail in solitary confinement.

We have so much in common Weld. If we lived closer together we would have so much to do and talk about and enjoy.

We saw so many elk in the town (alongside the east side of the main road) we gave up photographing them. Eagles on the lamposts were common, as were mule deer, marmots, and other smaller animals.

In the creek by the cabin I think I saw a beaver.
