Anyone done any mods to the vx250pr?

I've been riding mine for 2days and it seems like the sprockets just aren't right for it. I'm not looking for top end just mostly torque. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

Is the 250 using a 530 chain? It will make a difference in the suggestions. Also we need to know the front sprocket size.

15/54 is a 3.6 to 1 ratio. 15/45 would be 3 to 1.

You could change the front to a 17T and get 3.2 to 1

MIne is 2.65 to 1 which is about right for being to cruise on the 55mph highway.

If you change out that front I would be interested in the 15t sprocket.

A 15/40 would give you 2.67 to 1 which is about as close as you will get to my setup using the 15t front.

You may want to change both sprockets.

sand in el paso

Thanks for the info. Just remember mine is a pure dirt setup. I took it to quad land today and had a great time in 8 inch sand here in el paso. I realized my 250 4 stroke didn't have near enough power to handle the hills here. A couple of 2 stroke hondas made me look silly trying to climb the hills. I still need some advice on how to get more power and a good setup.
