2007 Baja 250x Xmotos XB31 Air Forks?

Upgrading a 2007 250X for my son's girlfriend, we've actually swapped in YZ85 forks, swing arm and rear suspension, parts that I had laying around. However when I pulled the old forks off, I noticed there were air fittings in the bottom of the fork tubes, these things take air pressure? Weird cause when I press the schrader valve on one side a little bit of oil comes out, the other side no pressure.
