Cheap weld!

So, I take off the fairings and the chin spoiler (250 2i) to give them a good cleaning. When I'm done, I begin putting the chin spoiler back in place. I place the chin spoiler and the metal bracket that it bolts to it on the right side just snaps off! Looks like it was welded with chewing gum!

Sadly, I wasn't surprised or even upset. I've come to expect this from Tank. This is not the first weld I'll be doing on this bike...and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Might be worth going through and just redoing all of them if Tank is that poorly made. I would be pizzed.

Yeah...I'm thinking of taking the bike apart and getting to work on it.

I think it may be time to start looking at a "FOR SALE" sign!

I get alot use out of my ebay hobart welder. I sure the time will come for the Lifan to go under the arc.

I realize these aren't expensive bikes, but man! A little quality would go a long way here!

They may be welding these with a set of jumper cables and a quarter like MacGyver did in one episode.

I would sell off the tank and get a lifan..That seems to be the brand that is going to make it through all of this.

Well, the way things are going, the Tank may be history soon. I LOVE working on bikes, but this is my commuter, so I can't constantly work on it! I'll keep my eyes out for the 400cc Lifan I keep hearing about. I know Lifan actually has parts for their bikes..unlike Tank.

Personally, I think the Hyosung/UM 250 and 650 sport bikes in naked, half-fairing, and full fairing trim are the way to go, as far as new bikes go based on price and warranty.

I SERIOUSLY have my eyes on that bike! If it were here now, the "for sale" sign would've been on my Tank last week! hahahahha

I would be a nice ride, but I am not ready for a big bike again. I would go for a 400 dual sport.

Well, the Jialing only has 40hp...so it,s no racer which is just fine with me. I like the Vento Colt, too. And, I'm still tricking out the Pagsta...

40hp is enough. I am good with my 16hp, but after time I will grow tired of it and will need an upgrade, but I want to stay with the more off-road oriented bike. The jialing looks to be a more street friendly ride.
