Valve / timing / rings

Hi there, I own a 2010 X31 250cc 21/18 It's a nice bike I love it. But I have a little problem with it now. me and a buddy tore the engine out to fix the problem, or so we thought. Anyways, I want to know how to set the timming on this bike, as there are no visible markings that we can see. The valve clearances on both the intake and exhaust? and were to buy piston rings? And one final question is: What are other bikes that would be able to interchange parts. I believe its a zongsten engine.

well. i cant tell u anything about valve clearance but u can buy a whole piston and rings on giobikes.com. its like 40 bucks i think. and you can probably interchange parts with just about any chinese 250cc over head cam engine.

What size is the piston? 65mm?

all the crf230 parts fit in it i have a crf230 piston and ring in my gio x31

That's good info. I presumed that the bore would be the same, but that doesn't mean than the wristpin height is. Thanks for clarifying.

go pick up a Honda repair manual.. and all is in there... you can pick up the parts & gasket thru GIO site... or a new engine for about $300.00 .. just drop it in & go..

SO the piston is 67mm, the gaskets were not ez to come by but I got them too. Just waiting for it to stop raining out and I am still waiting on my shipment for gaskets. Other than that. Thanks for the help.
