All of this goes back to what I said before about it not really being a common practice until recent years. Through history there has always been a bike or two that had a tank under the seat, but it almost always was a specific model thing, or an obscure manufacturer.

Admittedly, a big part of this had to do with carburetors and good old fashioned gravity feed being much simpler. My GL1000's fuel pump is basically pointless from a full to half a tank, and then completely needed below half a tank when the weight of the fuel stops forcing it through the system. With modern EFI bikes the fuel pump in the tank really simplifies things and solves the whole issue. Husqvarna's 701 has a big tank under the seat as well (and is also a bike I REALLY want).

I am just glad it is starting to become a more common practice. Having the space over the engine free for a false tank makes a great storage and centralized electronics spot. It's one reason I love working on my GL so much. No need to go taking apart half the bike to get to any of my electrical components, and I have a handy dandy little storage compartment.

I think I'd prefer the KTM 390 Adv. although the wait will be longer.

I agree with you on the KTM 390 Adventure, but who knows how long the wait will be? I'm still waiting for the F7 Tenere!!!!!!

T7 will more than lightly not be put into production
it has to smaller market..
the 700 Tenere will most lighty look nothing like it..
but yamaha did have 3 versions of the XT660
XTZ tenere / XTR Duel sport / XTX Motard..
so anythings possable..
wonder if the US will see them this time around...
