70CC Decisions

I posted this in the Pit Bike area and not one response. SO, I moved it here with hopes of more reply.

Hey Guys,
I need some advice. So I'm getting my little boy his first gas powered dirt bike / Pit Bike (why do we even call them pit bikes? They ARE a dirt bike LOL). I thought I had decided on an SSR Fully Auto. But then I see Apollo makes one, so does Pitster, and XMotos. Of course they are all cheaper than the SSR. The one thing going for the SSR is I can leave the house, drive up town and pick it up. BUT we are all here because we like to save a buck, right? Is the Apollo, Pitster, XMotos comparable to the little SSR in terms of quality? I want him to ride the thing more than I work on it. Here are a few links to them. Thoughts?

Just my personal opinion in terms of quality. Pitster Pro is more or less on par with SSR in terms of quality/reliability. In either case you can get parts from any dealer that sells the bikes, or through the company themselves sometimes.

This gives them a slight edge over the other two. That said, Apollo bikes have a decent reputation, so it is definitely one to consider. If their 250 came in an Enduro/Dual Sport model in the U.S. I likely would have purchased one over my Hawk.

I can't speak on the XMoto bikes as I have never owned or even ridden one.

Thanks Dan, I guess I will just go for the SSR bike. As I can just go up there, Plop down the dough and put it in the back of my truck. No shipping woes, etc. On the other hand no cool crate to open. I can mail order an SSR though.
