Resetting the ECU

Have anyone of you had to reset the ECU: this is the method described:
To reset motorcycle ecu, you can follow these steps:
Turn off the engine and the ignition switch, and unplug the ecu from your bike.
Remove the negative and positive wires from the battery terminal and leave it for 10-15 minutes.
Plug the ecu back to your bike, reconnect the battery wires, and turn on the ignition switch.
Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.


I was wondering would this cause any problems on my KPR 200
