Garage pro box

To all that have installed the garage pro rear box. How many bolts did you use? Did you use 2 existing holes and drill 2 more?

I drilled three holes to line up with the threaded holes in the RX3 carrier. The two forward holes in the GP plate are just outside and to the front of the two forward slots, The center of the rear hole is 21mm forward of the front edge of the latch doohicky. The plate fit perfectly over the RX3 carrier. I put a number of wide plastic washers I had between the GP plate and the RX3 carrier to lift the plate up a bit so the slot edges would be squished. And I put some marine adhesive under the four rubber bumper on the GP plate so they would not fall off.

Initially I did the same as NoVa Rider, but I did not use the plastic washers, which are an excellent idea. After riding several thousand miles, I developed problems with the latch at the rear of the locking plate. This problem was caused by a slight deformation of the plate, which might have been prevented by the washers.

I had a spare mounting plate, so I installed the new plate in a different location. I found a perfectly flat mounting position on the RX3 rack, and drilled four new holes. The mounting plate is now rock solid, and I haven't had any problems since.
