Another carburated version of ZS177MM my moto Xmotos XZ250RM , fabricated mounted coming with DELLORTO PHBE 34 mm , i buy this moto on 2013 , but moto model is product 2011 , and probably sleep in fabrica , and first day surprised my exhaust color chanced Gold yellow :(

After day i research and found problem is carburator in old benzin carb bowl benzin returned paste ( 2 year stay in old test benzin), blocked carb jets bad surprise.

But Dellorto phbe 34mm carb , non vacum type, spray type i think generally used hot italian 2 stroke bikes , basic constuction, basic maintenance and clean, i like.

I'm try KOSO / OSO 32mm carb , but poor performance (probably need , big jet's, low rpm good but high rpm poor probblem , and manifold gasket harmony problem)

Spark plug trying changing, moto coming DENSO U24 ESR-NB ( good performance) , (big head type"spark plug head attent") ,

Sparkplug crossreference found sad NGK CR8 , i try iridium version CR8EIX ( low rpm very good, but high.. Denso better than NGK)

Owner manual writed sparkplug adviced Champion RG6YC , i try found that sparkplug but cant found , idk how performance or stable..

İgnition coil , i found a old waste Skyteam 200cc cross bike , old ignition coil (same build type) , and i tested Skyteam 200cc ignition coil better than orginal coil , but old and dirty, i try found zero new cant found.

I was wondering , which other carburator types on harmony ZS177mm ?

( forgive me please, grammer and poor english, my age 36 and populer Turk terminology said " age is 35 Half of the way " ,^^ im happy in this forum platform )

Co2, Your English is much better than my Turkish (none).

So after you cleaned the old benzin (gasoline) out, the carb is good for performance?

Jay

Here's a step by step procedure I made to adjust the tank float height, specially useful for us carbureted version users.

It's in spanish but you probably can google translate it

Thanks for posting the link to your tank float modification. Google Chrome translates the page well into English.

Carburetor problem

Hello guys. Long time no see.

This evening I run out of fuel while heading to a petrol station, which is luckily just a hundred metres away from where my bike died (the petcock was already at RESERVE).

After I finished topping up fuel, I was unable to start the bike, and fuel was seen coming out from the area in red circle.

I had to switch the petcock to OFF position to prevent the leak from draining my tank. It leaks when I put it at ON or RESERVE.

And the Zong still won't start after a good 15 minutes of cranking up the engine via starter.

What did I do wrong?

It sounds like the float is stuck. Try tapping the bowl with a screwdriver handle.

Too occupied with work, and suffered Post Ride Syndrome after a trip to India.

Only able to try it last night.

And it worked! Thanks Weldangrind

But before coming to life, the exhaust make a loud explosion-like sound. Not "pop" kind of sound, but more like a "boom".

After that, no more leaks, and the engine starts like normal.

I'm guessing it's a temporary fix, isn't it?

How do I make a permanent fix? Change the float needle? My bike still under warranty, and I called the dealer, and they said I can change the carb if I like to.

Any words of wisdom?
