Newbie with a question

Would anyone know what this ATV type is. It had Ryder 300cc RTV as sticker but cant be sure its original. Fibreglass shell. Thanks for any input you can provide.

Currently 2wd only working, has a 2wd/4wd switch. When you selct 4wd it shows on speedo its in 4wd but not working - maybe an issue with solenoid that celects gears?

Also hard to start - potential starter motor issue?

Welcome.
I’m not going to be much help on the make but I am curious if your rig has ‘On Demand’ 4wd like my Polaris Sportsman. Even with 4wd engaged, it remains in 2wd until the rear wheels slip. A thought.

As for the hard starting and the starter being suspect, go through the starting circuit and make sure ALL the connections are clean and shiny. Especially the chassis grounds. Verify that the battery is fully charged, 13+volts. 12 volts is a battery in need of a charge.

If it is the starter, they can be a crapshoot. I went through 3 on my grandkids Tao Tao before I found a good one. Don’t go for the cheapest starter you find on line.
