Tao Axle Sprocket Help Needed

I need to adjust this axle sprocket to line it up. It looks like the hub is threaded. Do I just loosen the jam nuts and spin the hub on the axle?

on a taotao 125cc atv when installing new piston rings, does the black or silver ring go into the top groove on piston?
