automatic clutch adjustment

have a kids hunter style 110cc automatic. the clutch adjustment looks pretty standard. just loosen the nut around the adjustment screw turn in and then tighten the nut. the only problem is when you loosen the nut the thing pops out a half inch and no matter how much you turn in the screw, when you tighten the nut back up the screw winds up at the same adjustment you started with.... ANY IDEAS?????

i believe i have some pics if anyone wants to see the location

I think I understand but what's the problem with the quad? Why are you needing to adjust it?

Do you mean the center screw is popping out when you release the lock nut?....If so that doesn't sound normal. I have a 110. I'll check mine in the AM and post the results.

Sounds like it has a regular centrifugal clutch. if You can push atv forward with no resistance then it has a non adjustable clutch.
