150cc GY06 Clone Chinese Scooter Wiring Problem

Hello,

I have been rebuilding a Chinese 150cc scooter that was completely trashed. My friend picked it up for free for us to repair and provide to a homeless man that we are trying to help get back on his feet.

We rebuilt the engine but the wiring on the bike was completely trashed. I am VERY good with automotive 12v DC wiring but I am a little confused how this AC/DC scooter system works.

I replaced both switch sets on the handlebars so new headlight, turn signal and horn on left side and kill switch , start on the right handlebar. I have replaced every electronic component on the bike. Stator, CDI, Solenoid, Spark plug, Coil, Rectifier / Voltage regulator.

I got the bike running the other night but had some issues with the headlights not working. I did some rewire magic based on what I know about 12v and I clearly have done something wrong. The electrical system seems to be drawing current from the battery and not charging the battery back up as it runs. I suspect my rewire is running the headlight from DC and my research says that it needs to be AC, this is where I am a little lost.

Can someone help me with what the wiring for the switch system should look like? I am not exactly clear how the headlight works on AC with a common ground to the bike so please help!! We have been working on this bike for weeks and wanted to give it to the man last night thinking we had it all set but when we started it up we realized there is a charging issue as the headlight kept getting dimmer and dimmer as we test rode the bike around the house.

I have had no luck finding reasonable, legible diagrams for this problem I am having. Any assistance is hugely appreciated. Thank you!

你好，You can check if the engine's alternator is single phase or three phase and then check the rectifier regulator
