The saddles won't lock in that configuration; anyone could remove them without a key.
Thanks Spud. I wasn't sure if the back seat held the front piece in place or not.
I am in Central FL and found a "used" RX3 on CL and had to jump on it. I had been looking but wasn't going to pull the trigger until middle Jan. But when this Orange popped up with 265 miles on it I felt it was a sign. lol

Good for you. When you have time, please post some photos of your RX3.

Sweet deal! Like Spud, I'd love to see it.

Thanks for joining us.

The magnets are brilliant!

I though I was clever on my Yamaha when I replaced the seat bolts with spring latches, but I like the magnets better now.

They are both excellent ideas

Paisleyrider, not seeing what the magnets accomplish. Everything on the seat pan and below it is plastic. Did you add some steel at the opportune places opposite the magnets on the front seat? Trying to get my meager brain wrapped around your great idea. Can you post a close up pic of the area and that would show me clouded brain thingy how it's done. thanks rj

RJ, I put matching magnets on the seat itself. If I did it again I would just put beefy magnets on the seat and have them attract the metal of the frame. Simpler and might lower the seat a tad.
