Nothing impressive, but I average about 3 hours a day on my hawk during the week. About 60-80 miles a day.

I assume you are aware of Evelyn who took her Bashan storm from Utah to new York by herself in about a month or so just recently. Threads on this site.

Does Joe Berk's travel from his "5,000 miles at 8,000 RPM's" count? I'm pretty sure they did 300 miles a day or thereabouts on RX3's.

Anywhere from stuck in traffic, to WOT 60+mph blasts for 10 minutes at a time or so during that. Its a mix of highway/smaller roads. So probably average 50mph.

Im usually running up on people in the 55mph zones and have to slow down.

In my opinion, being backed by the factory shop kind of disqualifies this from the premise of the question. Just saying, I sure that would have been a successful ride no matter the outcome considering the resources.

Good point however, and he did it with several other rx3's all together

A father and son rode two chinabikes; the son was on a 150cc SSR scooter and the father was on a 125cc Honda CT70 replica made by Skyteam from San Francisco to NYC.

http://advrider.com/index.php?thread...w-york.988742/

Someone here rode a LIfan GY-5 200cc enduro from Louisiana to Florida several years ago, flat out on the interstate (those came stock with street-friendly gearing) over 2 days. I also recall someone here riding a HiBird 250cc enduro (pretty much the first enduro in the US over 200cc's) from somewhere south (cannot remember the details) to Oregon. Both of those threads would be difficult to find, and so out of date, kind of irrelevant, so 'Evelyn's' very recent trip from Utah to NYC is much more relevant.

Agreed--the bikes were prototype-ish (maybe not test mules, but the three earliest bikes imported by CSC) and this was a business trip, not random trip by one of us chinariders members/saps. Not to negate the significance, as it pointed out how far along a manufacturer had come, but not quite what was asked in the original post...

AND resulted in the discovery pf how piss poor the original battery was in any heat( which to CSC's credit was immediately rectified w Zong Shen!)

My question for those who ride a Hawk is, how do you stand to ride for more than 30 minutes on that uncomfortable seat? Seriously, if I ride for about 10 miles its already getting bad. Anyone have any suggestions about how to deal with it?
