If I understood the blog correctly (and I may not have), 2495 normal price is a wee much for a Hondoid. The TT seems to have a better fit and finish (according to pics) on the plastics but the meat of it is the same ol' stuff CB's have had for a decade regarding brakes, forks, swingarm, engine, hand controls, etc..... If 1895 was the normal price, that would be much more realistic in my mind but again....this is just my opinion. Feel free to ignore.

May I point out that the cheapest street bike that Honda sells is the Grom at MSRP $3199, and it's 125cc. Their 2013 CBR250R was listed at $4199. The closest model, CRF250L is listed at $4999.

So starting at $2495, how many improvements could you make before reaching the *starting* price of the Grom?

Knowing what you have learned about CSC, do you think they would risk the reputation they have with a dodgy product?

I agree this bike is a lot like a Hawk the main differences being counterbalanced motor and inverted forks other than a few minor things like maybe slightly different brakes. They are basically the same I think 2495.00 is a bit high too and it will probably have the 195.00 assembly fee also. I don't think it's a bad deal really. pros: zongshen motor, real support and warranty, slightly better finish possibly, it will be 50 state legal. If you live in a state where it is not hard to register the hawk and are willing to work on your bike and source parts you may still want to look at the hawk, I bought mine for 1450.00 from a dealer walk out with tt&l. That's a difference of over 1000.00 that's a lot of upgrades. Just my personal opinion but I can see why some would be willing to spend the money it's still cheap.

I'm glad to see that the TT is a different bike, rather than an RX3 without the bags. It is still a difficult choice between the two for me. I like the bare bones approach of the TT but I want the 25hp engine in the RX3.

True Jay but you can't compare the Japanese product to the China product, especially the "older" China designs which the TT shares a lot of. The TT has scads of same parts on it, including the inverted forks as my '08 X-Moto that I got new in 2011 for 900.00.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that CSC is offering better service and support than a "box store website" and also, that they're going through the hoops to be 50 state legal. We both personally know what that's like living here in CA and what's NOT available to us. The question here is are those two values they offer worth the extra 1000.00+, not including setup cost? On the upside, for the other 40-something states that can license Hawks and TMEC's, it make's those two bikes seem like a smokin' deal.

I think a good comparison for the TT will be the SSR XF250--both are CARB legal for all 50 states and both are 'expensive' as compared to typical Chinese enduro bikes. For me, living in AZ, I can get either a EPA/DOT 47 or 48 street legal bikes, or an EPA legal off-road bike like the Hawk. But the idea of the TT is appealing, as far as being like the XF 250 (higher quality over the typical Chinese 'junk.')

There is a lot to be said for, if one buys a CSC TT 250, exellant parts availability from CSC, not to mention a real warranty, and a series of high quality service videos coming, like the ones for the RX3. Plus, the bike is a Zong Chen, which is certainly high end quality in a Chinese bike. But, for me, the $700 shipping is a killer. Those of you on the mainland, or that could pick up the bike from CSC for free, seems like a no brainer to me.

I like the TT and was all ready to get one but 2495 plus shipping puts it right into the Suzuki DR200 price range. Even at the don't miss the boat sale price with the 700 extra for assembly and shipping its too close to the Suzuki. Dr200s are easy to find for around 3000-3500 new or 2000-2500 with low mileage.

Talk to Ryan this morning at CSC. They will have jetting options available for those of us who will need to re-jet.

He also mentioned that accessories will be rolled out similarly to what was done with the RX3. Things like skid plates, hand guards. No mention of lowering links but I'm sure if there are enough inquiries, they will make it happen like they did for the RX3.

Anyway, I'm on the list for a White TT. Since there is no Orange or Copper, I'm sure the white will be the fastest. If everything works outs I will pick it up in March after the RX3 Baja ride.
