RX3 rear brake switch issue

Hello people.

I `ve just been out for a small spin on my RX3 and it has become apparent that my rear brake light does not come on when I press the brake pedal?

As soon as I got home, I had a look ???
Well I`ve never seen a brake cylinder/switch like that before?
on other bikes the brake switch is connected to the frame and the other end is connected to the pedal.
When you press the pedal, the switch is pulled and your rear brake light comes on.

Not so on the RX3 or so it appears.?
The rear brake light switch for the pedal appears to be integrated into the bolt that holds the rear brake line banjo in place???
Are they prone to trouble or is mine just unlucky.

These bits (parts 2 & 3)

Any advice will be gratefully accepted

First I suggest you test the switch with an ohm meter at the connector.
The wires run very close to the exhaust pipe and can get burned.

The switch is hydraulic, and with it above the banjo fitting an air bubble trapped there can have the brakes work but not have enough pressure to actuate the switch.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, I`ll look into that and keep it in mind.
So much for the advance of technology in the old days I could of fixed a switch and never touched the reservoir .
