The GY and Sophia have very different missions. I think the GY will be my commuter, especially if the weather report is iffy. Sophia only gets the best. She's the princess of my garage. Indeed tonight I installed some carbon fiber goodies on her. A countershaft sprocket cover and heel guards. By replacing the pedestrian aluminum units I'm sure I saved 1/20th of a pound! LOL! Looks nice though. Like race bike jewelry.

A Ducati factory carbon fiber hugger, chain guard, and inner rear fender should be here in the next day or two. Another 1/10th pound saving! It lightened my wallet by much more than that though :-(

Just gassed it up. Only 62 MPG. I expected more. Maybe after another few tanks. Also the clutch still slips a little. Grrrrrr.

The engine probably isn't broken in yet.

After break in, you should get at least 70 mpg if the carburetor is jetted correctly.

That's what I figure.

Also I was unable to notice any clutch slippage on the ride home. Maybe it was my imagination.

I BELIEVE but am not certain Ron changed the oil... I think that may be a factor.

62 MPG is OK but nothing special. Sophia gets in the upper 50's and has much more than 100 more HP.

I don't think that I ever got more than 72mpg.

I regularly get 75 mpg from my Zong. While doing easy riding at both ends of the riding season, I can get even better gas mileage.

That's what I figure. My Q got in the 70's any day, and sometimes even more.

I don't recall what my blue HSUN got back in the day.

The jetting on this bike is stock and likely on the lean side if anything, but the quality of the carburation is excellent and not improveable.

I took the GY trail riding a little today:-)

I went to visit with Jerry for some skeet shooting so I put the remington 870 in a case I could carry over my shoulder and head on off. I can get to Jerry's without riding on more than 300 yards of road if I choose, all trails and dirt and gravel roads.

The little bike did fine, although it worked hard to keep it's speed up on an uphill turning sand trail, but it did do it. It prefered going down LOL!

On gravel and dirt trails it did well, although the suspension of this thing is only a clone of an XR200 in terms of looks and interchangeability; the ride of the GY was surely no XR, but oh well;-)

I'll be using the KLX as my trail bike, the GY is really a commuter for me.

Note to GY owners:

Don't jump these things, they land hard, and I don't trust the flimsy footpeg mounts.

BTW, I love living in a place where a guy can ride around with a shotgun on his back and not be looked at strangely.

Can't you travel with a rifle/shotgun on your back without attracting attention anywhere in the United States?

There was a time where in most places it would have been socially acceptable.

I hear guys in their 50's and 60's from EVEN California (rural areas) say how they would bring a .22 to school and leave it in their locker to go plinking after class with their friends.

Older folks here tell about how in hunting season they would bring a deer rifle to school so they didn't have to miss an opportunity to hunt after class.

No school shootings back then.

How can that be?

Also, it was a warm sunny day with blue skies today. The govenment is 'shut down'.
