HI from Iowa

Hi,
To be clear I do Not have a Dual sport or China made Bike at this time. A quick History will give you an idea as to my interest. I started riding motorcycles about 15 years ago by purchasing a 1980 Honda CX500 basketcase and brought it back to life, road it for about 5 years, sold it for a 1982 Honda Silverwing 500 bagger, road it for 2 years and sold it, bought a 2008 Suzuki Burgman 400 scooter and am still driving it every day I can, bought a 1995 Yamaha 225 goat, road it for a year, sold it and have regretted selling it ever since. I am here to learn as much as possible about the Hawk dual sports and when I have the cash in hand I'll buy it outright. With 2 starting college, my funds are short so I estimate It will be early next spring before I buy the Hawk. I enjoy the challenges vehicles bring and not afraid to tear into them, so the Hawk seams a reasonable choice for me. I've already read several posts here and look forward to visiting with you all and am certain I'll have questions at some time in the coming spring, till then I'll be lurking..

Welcome from the other side of the Missouri. The Hawk sounds right up your alley. Keep your eyes open on craigslist as low mile used ones pop up from time to time.

Welcome! What is a Yamaha 225 Goat? Is that an XT225?

Fellow Iowan

New to the forum myself. I am going up this week to Madison, WI area and will sit on a few bikes from q9powersports. I am a big guy 6’ 300lbs if you want me to let you know how one feels. If I like it I will be ordering as it will be cheaper with no tax and I can loc tite everything as it is somewhat apart still. Q9 has a multi purchase deal if you buy more than one, you get money off. I am getting three bikes. One for dad and two smaller ones for kids. It should be $35 off a piece and yay no tax with free shipping.
