Not a problem Culcune.

First of all.

V-Raptor is running again!! YEEHAAWW

Decided to take carburetor apart with the help of my father in law, which worked as a certified auto mechanic 45 years ago - back when cars still had carburetors!

See that big screw in the middle. It was just sitting there - not screwed in!! screwed it in tight. Put everything together. Now running like a chime.
Your right Spud, good to have a spare. And the new CDI is better anyway.

Thanks again ALL you guys!. Now enjoying a nice cold German beer!!

Was the main jet loose?

Yes. When I opened the back lid it was just sitting there on top of the thread. It was not turned in at all. I guest the lid was stopping it from falling completely off.
Is it supposed to be loose?

BTW. it seems that the carburetor was put together wrong before I got the bike.
On the picture below look on left I marked two parts with A and B.
The first time I took it apart the needle clip (B) was on top of A.
Am I wrong, or isn't "A" supposed to be on top of "B" to hold the needle down with the big spring? If the needle is not held down it won't go along with the cylinder, right? How could I habe ridden the bike 5600 Kilometers like that?

No, the jets are not supposed to be loose. You were correct to tighten the main jet.

Clip B should be placed in one of the slots cut into the jet needle. Indeed, Cap A should be located above Clip B.

Well done, Trailbikeryder!

I don't want to brag (much!), but I think I had this sorted way back in reply 5 of this thread

Coincidentally, the CDI suggestion fixed my problem.

Me and Mr. Trailbikerider have the same bikes, so i am very happy he is 2500km ahead of me. All i have to do is follow his threads and i will know all the answers to upcoming technical problems!
i am happy your bike is up and runnig again mate!

by the way, does anyone know if an original Honda-Clutch would fit into our 223ccm Honda-Clone (i think its 166ffm? but not sure) We both have the problem that our clutch is a bit wonky

greetings from Munich
MIchael

Rode the bike for 300 kilometers since I fixed it. The gas milage got a little better. Maybe because of new open CDI?

@zingshoen
The fit perfect, it was still the same size. I put it in the middle one. I do plan on doing some experiments with it though, since I know how to take thing apart now! I saw a video about that the other day when I was looking for info on carburetors but the under titles are in french, which I am fluent in, but you can understand the picture!. let me see....
Here:

@migu
I made some adjustments to the clutch the other day. Seems to be a little better now. I'll post some pictures tomorrow on how I set it. I set it so it comes later when you pull the clutch.

Yes, better gas mileage is good indicator either the old CDI unit, or the exciter coil of the stator were failing. A better, more consistent spark from either of these components will definitely deliver better gas mileage.

They're almost the same. In fact, the clone motors tend to have a superior clutch basket that has two extra plates, vs Honda. If you still have trouble with engagement after adjusting the clutch, you could try performance springs that are meant for an XR200 Honda.

@migu
these are the adjustments I did on the clutch. On the first picture it was more in the middle then now.

@Spud
Would the plates from the XR200 fit also? Does the XR and the XL have same engine or clutch plates?

I'm sorry, I don't know. The only Honda bikes I know much about are my XR650L and CRF250X.
