Do I need to adjust the air mixture first or just try it came first? 1.5 turns? Please advise.

What carb? What do you have for pilot and main jet sizes in the carb?

the idle mixture screw setting is whatever you need to adjust it to be. 1.5 turns out is just a generic starting point.

Have you changed out the jets? Those come out of the box too lean for our engines, especially if you have any mods like intake and exhaust.

That tends to mean nothing. I will just assume it is a 20 pilot jet. In which case, it will work, but it is generally too lean. Most people end up around 2-2 1/2 turns out from lightly seated on the idle mixture with that pilot size. I recommend a 25 pilot jet. VM28/486 is the jet type.

For the main, depending on mods, a 110 may work. With intake and exhaust, a 115 is better. if you live at a lower altitude (sub 4000ft).

Everything worked well on the first crank. Ive only hit 3rd gear doing about 30 because I can't get on the road. I left everything on the stock settings.
