make sure your MCO is is ok first, the engine size needs to be in CC and not HP, make sure the MCO lists it as a motorcycle and not a recreational or off road bike, also if the bill of sale doesnt have the VIN on it you will need to get the dealer to fill out the tax form from DMV DTF-802 i had to mail it back and forth to get everything in order, it took me a couple weeks, talk to who ever you buy the bike from first and they can have it correct for you the first time.

Great info, thanks for the help...This makes the Hawk even more appealing, although I'd still love to see reviews on a Bashan Enforcer! I'm pretty sure in the next few weeks Enforcer reviews will appear as they are pushing them like crazy now!

Hell, not even the sellers have any YouTube reviews of the new Bashan, which scares me just a tad!! Ok, it scares me a LOT!

Some of the places that advertise the enforcer say it has a 19 inch front, and a 17 inch rear wheel. I personally would not buy a dual sport/enduro without an 18 inch rear wheel. Much wider choice of rear tires. And in a much wider choice of widths....ARH

[B]UPDATE[B]: So I now have a whopping 864 miles on the Hawk. I was thinking about selling it before the move to Arizona, and I took off the throttle lock and the cell phone holder, and I don't carry the charging cables for my phone of headset anymore. It's not looking like it's going to get sold before we leave (oh, darn, let me tell you how broken up I am about that... ), so I may spring for another phone holder and throttle lock. The ones that were on the Hawk are on the Ural now. I find that I'm riding the Hawk for nearly all of my solo around town adventures, and the Ural whenever I need to get some serious shopping done or if the Missus wants to go for a ride. Just the latest from this part of the world before I get my day started. Happy hunting, everyone!

Strangely enough, the KLR's never really appealed to me. I speak to a bunch of adventure riders that absolutely love them, but it's just not my bag. I like the simplicity of the DR, as evidenced on a grander scale by the stable of bikes I keep. I have my DR set up for long distance adventure, and so far (8,000 miles or so) I have nothing to complain about. One of my riding buddies has an almost-stock DR, same model year, and the difference is night and day between the upgrades and farkles on mine vs. what he's riding on. He sticks more to the highway on his, so he doesn't need to have a lot of the setup I went in for. In any event, that's enough of a ramble for this morning.

I need several parts off the Gen 2 bike for my 1999 KLR... I want to swap over to the Gen 2 swing arm/rear brake... and I can always use spare rims/wheels too...
