old telephone

i was able to save this family heirloom when the new owners of our family farmhouse was being torn down. this is all i have from that house besides pictures....house was built by my great uncle and this phone has been used by my family for decades. last time i used it was in the early 1980's when dad converted it to 'modern' technology. it was originally used on a shared line with 1 neighbor. you could pick up on them talking and hear each others converstions. i cant wait to restore it best i can. any tips?

Nice! Good tip is don't restore it. It will lose its value. Worth more in the state it is in. Worst mistake most people make is cleaning up old items. Even though it has been converted, it still worth more in its natural state.

i think a couple wires have been knocked off here and there. i would like to get it operational using original wires equip. the ear piece is what i gather as going bad the most. i think it has some sort of ceramic parts inside the earpiece. the earpiece has been ripped off from the box. i prob will hire some old school phone tech to hook it all back correctly. i am amazed at the original labels still good. especially original phone number inside it....maybe need some guidance on cleaning it back to best it can be cleaned. as far i i can tell. all original parts are there. undo the upgrade?

That must be a woman’s phone ,there is zero chance that would fit in my pocket ,but it might fit in a purse .
