Spudland revisited!

Roger and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Spudland with our friend, brother and guide Spud himself leading the way.

Pics to follow soon.

Roger and I took our bikes (DRZ-400S and WR-450R) to Idaho in Roger's Chevy truck and rode from there.

What a variety of riding we got to do!

We rode through deserts, salt flats, and even across a causeway on the Great Salt Lake. We rode in high timbered mountains over 8,000 feet. We could not go higher because that was the snowline. We did get to ride across some snow at the snowline. We saw large clear blue lakes, and a variety of wildlife. I thought I saw Bigfoot, but as well know they are mostly in Oregon and Washington, rare that far inland.

We were blessed with great weather although one day we were close enough to the thunderstorms to see and hear the lightning in the mountains of northern Utah.

Spud kept us off pavement most of the time except when necessary, and no highway at all. All paved roads were pretty country roads with great scenery.

All the bikes performed perfectly. Spud rode his Zong, his RX3, and his CRF, and his XR. I sampled the XR and RX3 and the 225cc Yamazong this visit. Ride report on the RX3 to follow...
