MCO notarization?

I bought a BMS Enduro CRP (Bashan) from TXpowersports and took it to the NC DMV to register it where they informed me that the MCO needed to be notarized by the dealer, is this true for North Carolina?

I have the Bill of Sale provided by TXpowersports which has been notarized.

There is not a specific place on Manufacturers Certificate of Origin for notarization, and they come already signed from the manufacturer.

I think you have been misinformed. Take it to a different office. Did you also get a bill of sale? Those aren't notarized either.

I've lived in states where bills of sale had to be notarized and others where they didn't. I don't see the MCO needing to be though.

A few time in the past I have told the DMV people "OK, I will sort this out and come back." And left to simply go to another location in search of someone more competent. And that actually worked a time or two.

check this link. someone may have noted specific details for North Carolina. When I got my Hawk back in 2016, NC would not register it, so I registered mine in South Dakota instead.

you might also try to contact the person at the bottom of this thread. he registered his with an MCO last September.
