I ended up loosening it with a needle nose pliers and backing it out until it hit the frame. Then I used a small chisel to cut the bottom of the screw hole so there was still enough left above the screw to tighten against. Now I just remove the other screws, loosen the bottom one and lift the cover off of it.
I understand that Zongshen redesigned the air box on the RX4 so that it’s easier to get to all the screws.
