Hawk MPG

One of my hobbies is just planning for the zombie apocalypse. Knowing this will never happen I still think a little prep for a disaster is prudent. Also it is an excuse to get cool camping gear and motorcycle stuff.

So that got me and a buddy chatting about escape options and I don't know the answer to this. I just fill up the Hawk without really looking at its consumption. I will gather is data myself once the weather gets warm but until then I know we have OCD folks out there.

Does anyone have verified data on what they are getting for MPG on the Hawk? I will be building a vacation house 220 miles away from my primary residence and if SHTF and I had to get up there with the hawk I want to plan how much I should carry in fuel. I weight 200 pounds and I will have a 40 pound passenger. Wife who is a new rider weights 125 but will be carrying most of the heavy stuff. So about 50 pounds of gear.

This is with a 17X45 sprocket combo.

Let's hear what you know.

I would say 48 to 55 mpg loaded for bear, errrr zombies

I would bring 2 extra gallons, better to be safe than turned into the herd

I weigh more than you and your passenger and I am probably a much bigger parachute with my height. With similar gearing but no luggage aside from a backpack, I consistently average around 63mpg, with a best of 71 and a worst of 55. depending on the conditions, my throttle hand, etc. This is from 1200 miles of recorded riding.

I would say Azhules estimation would be a safe one to make.
