Sprocket retaining clip hints

Any tips on how to get the sprocket retaining clip to seat? I just put on my new jt sprocket and the clip is mostly in the groove but I can't get it perfect.

the studs have to be in the slot on the back of the sprocket. I did this yesterday. Just rotate with your fingers until they click into place then put on your clip.

I saw it in a thread once but could not remember where.
