BULL 150 clunking in reverse

I just bought a brand new bull 150. I got it assembled and it clunks when getting started in reverse. I also think it requires to much throttle to get moving in forward as well as reverse. I bought this for my wife for her birthday and am a little disappointed that brand new it clunks. I checked the oil is full. The sprocket teeth are not bent and the chain is in great shape. I am thinking it is something with the CVT, but know absolutely nothing about this type of transmission. Any information for what to look for/at would be great!

chain adjustment

if the chain is too tight it will try to jump the teeth... where do you hear or feel the clunk?? in the belt drive or chain... you need to tell more.... not wizards here...

It was my fault

My wife had the idea to just run it in forward for a bit and see if it breaks itself in. Reverse is great now. Admittedly it only make the clunk twice and it was at very low speed.... Like 1-2 mph. Thank you for your reply flash light

Check rear wheel, chain and sprocket alignment. The clunk you probably hear is the sprocket tooth grabbing the chain from misalignment.

Also consider too, that with a CVT the engine will need to rev up to the clutch engagement speed before it grabs and reverse engages. On my generic gy6 cvt atv with planetary reverse, you have to go easy on the throttle when backing up. If you rev it too fast, she'll clunk and slam hard as the clutch engages and reverse gears mesh in.
