Grin 2015 Grom

I bought a last year carry over 2015 Honda GROM.
.
I drove the demo unit and was immediately taken by it. IT'S SOOOOOO TINY!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!
But they are a BLAST to ride!!!!!! Slowwwwwww take off! but still fun.
Hit 62 MPH on the demo bike without too much fuss.
The demo unit was a 2014 model still in stock!!! 0_0 It was all black,
and I wanted the newest 2015 yellow and black one they had in stock but not set up yet. One year model newer, ZERO miles on it ( thus no one, like me, giving it hell because it is a demo unit! ) and was only $150 more.
I got a lot to do today, but somewhere in the course of the day I go pick it up. Will post pic tonight if time permits.

Hope you got a good deal on it, at the Honda Stealerships around here they still want full price for "Demo" bikes... let alone last year models with 0 miles on them...

The Mrs. was looking at the Grom, we almost drove out to "Honda of the Ozarks" to pick one up for just under $2,700 out the door

http://www.hondaoftheozarks.com/new_...73&pov=4203589

Next time you need a Honda, check them out, they give great deals on previous year(s) 0 mile motorcycles

Nice! Congrats! Those things look like a HOOT to ride...plus the racing is hysterical to watch.

Picked the lil bike up, went literally FIVE MILES to the courthouse to get tags, got off the bike and made maybe 10 steps away and a woman in a blue Ford Focus backs all the H*** over the bike!!! And I was a good 5 feet between the Grom and the back of her car! Dang. Killed the front fender. The rest was not hurt. She called the Honda dealership and gave them her info to pay for the replacement fender, so at least that was nice. Accidents happen.
.
Pulled the fender off for now. Does not look too bad without the fender actually. But I will be putting the new one on when it comes in.
.
By the way ( and this may be OLD news ) but any Grom owners that want to dress up their brake fluid cover, the NCY covers made for little scooters fit like a glove. I already had this one sitting around from a past scooter project and threw it on. Had yellow NCY lettering and looks better than the plain black one!
.
Growing up, my first "real motorcycle" was on old early 1980's Honda XL80.
Somehow, this little Grom brings back that same feeling. Is about the same overall size and best I can recall the handling is about the same. Ahhhhhhh the good ol days! The picture below of the XL80 is not the exact one I owned. I have no pictures from that era due to a house fire many years ago. So I borrowed if from yahoo images for reference. :-D

Thanks for the compliments.
As for a "good deal", , , ummmmmmm, not really. lol
I DID look on cycle trader, and paid going price in this area ( within 100 miles of my house ) of $2995 + tax. They wanted $2850 for the demo 2014 model. Hell it is already 2016! hahaha! Now, if they had said, like, oh , , $2500 for the 2014, then I would have come home with a black one. And been immediately hitting up the Krylon Fusion paint rack for some yellow paint.
I really wanted the Yellow & black for a really STUPID reason.
I wanted to name it "The Humble Bumble" lmao!!!!
Hey, most of us scooter riders seem to have names for our scooters / mini bikes.
.
Already done the air box mod. I refuse to pay $400+ for a stupid loud exhaust system!!!!!!
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY does a motorcycle muffler cost $400, when a PAIR of 40 series Flowmasters, INSTALLED, on my Hemi RAM was quoted at $325 out the door". ????????????? STUPID!!!!!!!!!

Watched a clip from "Walterrific" the other day and some a'hole backed up in traffic and destroyed the plastics on his front end... long story short... get the cops involved and take down everyone's information that way

Here's a clip for anyone wanting to see how to get scammed into paying for repairs when you get backed over at a red light...

Unreal. I'm glad she did you right by getting the fender. When I had a lifted Ramcharger years ago, people used to love to park their empty shopping carts right in front of it so I wouldn't see them.
Dang! Grom parts are right up there with Harley now!

1st tank of gas, mostly the throttle has been treated more like an on-off switch than something variable.
93 MPG. Not toooooooo bad. Honda claims 120 MPG, but I am sure that is rolling on easy on the throttle, shifting at 5500ish RPM, on flat ground with no head wind and holding steady at 45 MPH.
My style, WOT every gear all the way.
.
.
.
But I do let off the gas and behave when I see a 5-0 in sight. :-D

1st GROM CRASH!!!!

Had my 1st ( probly of many to come ) GROM crash.
Last night, in the road in front of my house.
A buddy of mine come over and we got to playing with the new Grommy
and I had made a few 1/2 decent stoppies , , , , , until, , , , , ,
WHOOPS!!!!!
BLAM!!!!
Up and over I went!

Minor damage. Ego got hurt the worst. Followed by a severely bent up
clutch lever ( no biggy as I already have shorty levers on order if the fine
folks at Amazon will ever get them to me! )
and a scuffed up left mirror. Not bad. Just a scuff on the plastic.
.
Mind you, this was a 3MPH "crash " hahahaha!
.
I'm too old for this $ht. But I still try.

Happy to hear about the Grom.

Sorry to hear about the crash...

It would be interesting if someone did a side by side review of a Honda Grom and a Chinese clone. I bet they would be very similar. Usually Groms are pretty pricey.
