Brozz 2019 and gas mileage

At 180 miles I topped off the tank and rode again to hit 336 miles for another fill up. I put 1.8gallons in to fill. By calculation that equals 86 miles a gallon! Is that crazy or what. I know the speedo is off a little in mph. But, even then this milage is phenomenal! I do by premium unleaded.

Any reason for paying extra coin and using "premium" fuel?

Just asking because I know most "Owners manuals" state the wrong fuel grade (AKI vs RON fuel octane ratings)... and I doubt that a low strung, carb'd, push rod motor, with around 9 to 1 compression ratio will ping or knock even on the cheapo 87 gas (or even as low as 85 octane if you live over 5,000 feet above sea level).

I usually run our little Bashan 200 on 85 octane (6,000+ feet) and have yet to hear it ping or knock under any load I put it under

Always run NON-ethanol. Does not matter octane rating. Just keep the corn alcohol out of your system. That stuff eats your carb and anything rubber it touches. Ask me how I know.

mmm that's a good question. the book says 91 but your right 91 what. I don't know. It is possible that they can put 10% methanol in the pumps here. I forget though when either winter or summer. your right 9:1 is low. I may try the cheap and see any difference.

It's most likely 91 RON (most common international standard) which translates to 87.1 RON+MON/2 aka the way it's measured in the US.
