New Mexico Boot Heel

New Hawk owner here. I have received my hawk got it from Tex Powersports. Got this one for exploring the wide open country down here on the Mexico Border.
, ,
I have already upgraded this Hawk quite a bit with more upgrades in the works. Lots more pics to come as I have lots of time right now to explore. I am home between jobs with no hurry to get back at it. This was just a 25 mile run into Town. Still waiting on paperwork so I can get some tags on it. Main issue I had with this one was shipping cosmetic damage and stripped threads. Also the throttle cable was just a bit to long to adjust out even after carb swap.
Anyhow great to be here looking forward to the critics and other views.( Feedback)

Welcome! I had the same throttle cable length issue with my first Hawk. I had it adjusted almost all the way out from day 1. You could always attempt to solder a new barrel on to he throttle side of the cable after cutting off he original barrel, or order a Vehinill cable kit and make your own cable and have something a little higher quality in the end.

I'm fairly new to the site too and live in silver city nm. I recently bought a TaoTao TBR7 to explore the areas around here. It looks like you are in the lower part of the state ?. If you get up to these parts would you like to meet up and ride ?

Tomorrow I will be in silver to get insurance on this I have to take the lady $6 for 6 months. I am just north of Animas in a small town called Cotton City. The road in the pics is from Lordsburg to Animas. in Lordsburg hit Animas street and keep going south you will come out at the store in Animas. If I get time I am always down to go for a ride. Working on plates now so I can hit the black turf..

Not sure if you know or not but when i went to register my bike i got it assembled and loaded on a trailer to take to the mvd. But when i got to the counter she said there is no need to see the bike and she just needed the mco or mso and proof of insurance and the bill of sale for the tax part.

I'm off work tomorrow and am going to be fitting my new hand guards, mirrors, and gear shift lever. Let me Know.
