Any opinions on the Lifan VF250??

Saw one on EBAY for $1500... Buy It Now Price
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting

looked on the net, found a couple nice vida on Youtube... sounds like, and looks like a nice bike...
I saw on the last post someone had an engine bearing failure (sorry for your luck there) You could buy this EBAY bike as a spare. Do any of you have more experience with this bike. I am checking to see if there is a Lifan dealer near me..want to see how I fit on it. BTW the American Lifan site shows a 400cc version too.

Thanks

Ken

I think they are a copy of the virago 250.

Haven't heard much about them though.

They are a copy of a Virago 250.My wife has had two of them. There was a dealer that sold those Lifans locally.Lifan done a very nice job of copying the virago.Even down to the fake duel exhaust.Only on muffler is conected to the front cylinder head.I was told by that dealer that you can even interchange some of the parts,I don't know?

Just bought a 250

I just bought an LF250 last week. It came in a box. My neighbor helped to assemble it. I'm having trouble with the carb. It won't run at an idle speed without choking it. When I'm riding and drop the throttle down, the bike dies. I'm probably going to have to pull the carb and send for a replacement.
I'm getting pretty frustrated. I've had it a week and can't take it out of my neighborhood yet.

250 opinion

Well, I saw the pics you posted. That bike has been discontinued for sale here in the USA nor is it being shipped. It is no longer available from American Lifan. We do carry parts for it and still support it, we just dont offer that style in our lineup any longer..

It has been replaced with the LF250B. Which is a lot better bike...

hop over to americanlifan.com and take a peek..

btw: very nice website you guys got going here... lots of friendly people also...

take care... and remember..

It's just about an exact copy of the V-Star 250 (formerly known as the Virago 250). It's about the same size, too. Very nice looking bike.

I'm waiting for Lifan to stick the new 400cc in a sportbike frame (I hope)!
