That is exactly what I want. It even has the CBI (water cooled) or RE250 engine with the 6spd trans.

I would honestly eat the shipping costs, but the harder challenge would be getting it past customs.

I seriously wish I had the cash on hand to order a container of these.

That wouldn't surprise me. The large fuel tank capacity and the luggage rack with the twin rear shocks definitely scream "Utility" bike and they use bikes out there like trucks.

Shineray used to offer something nearly identical to that bike, but we never had them out our way. I think it was around 10 or so years ago.

Nope. It costs way to much to get them EPA compliant to import.

It also takes months, if not at least a year to go through all the testing. That being said, once they get them certified, you can renew the certification year after year. TMEC with their Denali 200XT does that. Shineray had certified their retro 400cc bike that was supposed to be sold via Alliance or one of those scooter brands--I think twice in two years, but the bike never got here. I haven't checked to see if they opted for this year or not, but now I am kind of getting off topic... lol

There are some work arounds with the EPA certifications. If the engine in said vehicle has already passed EPA certification in another vehicle, then as long as it has the requisite emissions equpment installed, the bike itself undergoes much less testing - assuming you can go through all of the paperwork involved. It still takes money and time though, just a little less of it. That is one reason the CG and CB engines are so ubiquitous and cheap, while bikes with the NC250 and the 450cc engines are less common and more expensive.

If you want to go a step further, then you can dive into CARB certification, which is a whole other level of torture.

Honestly, if I could get my hands on that 22L fuel tank (that's 5.8 U.S. gallons btw) I would be happy. I do eventually want to swap an RE250 into my Hawk if I can find one that wont cost me about $1000 to get to my door after freight charges. That 6spd gearing has a double overdrive, which would allow you the ability to run a 17/50 sprocket setup, but with the highway gearing of a 17/43 setup when in 6th gear. That would honestly make it a perfect dual sport in my eyes.
