Just saw this Spud and your PM. Without me going back through the posts can you tell me exactly what you looking for like thread sizes, hose sizes (3/4") I think I saw. Also shapes of what your looking for? Or point me to the post number your wanting to try doing? The one you PM'd me was for the TT250 ??? Glad to help , I'm alittle behind in this post and will try and read back through it soon but today I'm busy filling orders. rj

PS: I have thousands of plastic 3/8" double ended barbs about 1" long that I could possibly run a die over to make the M10 x 1.0 thread pitch with 1/4" hole through center ????? Would they work for the threaded barb thingy you mentioned in #75 above?

The Koso BG018B01, Water Temperature Sensor Adapter (18mm) would fit the radiator hoses and the M10-1.0 barbed adapters.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Koso-North-A...-/331616342037

The only problem is the short, bent hose which connects the right radiator to the water pump inlet.

Thank you, Rob.

Please read post #70 of this thread, and onward. I think I found all the adapters we need. However, the Koso BG018B01 adapter in the post before this one would be difficult to fit in the short, bent hose which travels from the right radiator to the fuel pump.

Do you know of an adapter which fits an M10-1.0 fuel sensor and 3/4" hoses which makes a 90-degree turn? If not, what else might work?

Heater hose is available in both 5/16" and 3/8" diameters. The M10-1.0 barbs are also available in both 5/16" and 3/8" diameters. Which side should we choose?

I would have to take measurements but it could probably be reamed out and tapped for an NPT fitting

Spud,

Thanks for pulling apart your thermostat housing and posting the pictures and all the extra info.

Regarding the lack of space on the bottom hose ( radiator to water pump).

I have been looking at these self seal connectors but the flange might be too big for the size of our hose. Also they do an m10 sensor fitting, all a bit pricey though. http://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Self...d-Fitting.html

I think i'm right in saying that there's not much size difference between the 2. So I guess either would be ok.

Needless to say I will be doing mine in millimeters , and will probably use some fuel line hose that's stiff enough to hold its own shape. for my bypass tube.

I guess the internal diameter needs to be a large enough to be effective but not so large as to divert to much flow from the radiators when the coolant is super hot.

Perhaps a small inline tap could be fitted in to the bypass tube to control flow .

I'm sure we could tap the adapters; they are made of aluminum. However, the M10-1.0 barb fittings are only $5/each. See post #75 of this thread.

As always, thanks for posting the great tip, Kat.

You only need one of the self-sealing connectors, since there is lots of room for the Koso adapter to be placed upstream of the thermostat housing. I think the SST8K, 8mm barbed fitting might work best. This fitting would work for 5/16" hose for us in the United States.

http://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Self...h-On-Tail.html

Here is a video which shows how to install the fittings.

Kat,

I would be willing to purchase one of the spare, Thermo-Bob thermostats for you, and ship it to England. In fact, I would talk to the seller first, and ask him to allow me to test the thermostat for a correct fit. If the thermostat doesn't fit, I would return it to him for a refund.

If you install the system, and everything works well for you, perhaps you could ship some of the Revotec fittings to me, in the United States.

I think these M10-1.0 hose barbs would work well with either 8mm, or 5/16" hose for the bypass.

I contacted Watt-Man about his Thermo-bob solution and he replied that he will likely join the discussion in our thread. I'm looking forward to his insight into our issues.

what about a 10mm banjo bolt and banjo barb fitting?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pcs-Brake-...ZXGRuq&vxp=mtr

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fitting-8mm-...pV66eU&vxp=mtr

or skip the barb and use an m10 braided line

Using the following items, I think the cost would be about $90 for us in the United States.

"Thermo-Bob 3" Spare Thermostat: $19.00, plus shipping
http://shop.watt-man.com/Thermo-Bob-...rmostat-S3.htm

Revloc 8mm Self Sealing Fitting (SST8K): $35 USD
http://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Self...h-On-Tail.html

10mm x 1.0 male thread to 5/16" Hose Barb fitting: $5.29
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-5-16-b...rue&rmvSB=true

Koso BG018B01, Water Temperature Sensor Adapter (18mm): $25.90
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Koso-North-A...xWCz5Y&vxp=mtr

2 feet of 5/16" Heater Hose: $1.75

I have thousands of these that I could probably run a 10mm x 1.0 die on one end. 1/4" hole through and .410 dia. barbs for 3/8" hose. Would need to order a die as I don't have one. rj
