vader motor swap

I wanted to do a quick write on a motor swap I saw online. I am not the first one to do this but just wanted to post a little info on this it is a zs190cc sold by pitster pro. engine mount bolt holes are a direct fit and the factory wiring from the CDI on the Vader will work you just have to match the same color of wires off the stator to plug from the CDI on the Vader there are 5 wires to hook up just match the colors. You do lose your gear selector on your speedometer when you do the motor swap, not a big deal the only wire that comes out of the gear selector is a neutral wire when you're in neutral on the motor it will show on the speedometer but nothing more than that. The motor does come with a carb oil cooler wiring harness and CDI. just thought I would share the info for anyone interested and doing this motor swap or want some more power to the vader!! I will post some pictures of the motor and bike for anyone you want to see what the fit looks like.

I was going to put the zs190 in my ice bear fuerza. What size sprockets are you going to be using? Top speed?

Common sense would tell you that this could be done seeing all the clone CT-70 swaps from 125cc to 140cc+, but you are actually the first person reporting this done on the crop of Grom clone-ish bikes. Thank you for sharing!

Cool swap! Do you intend to put a fan on the cooler?

sprocket sizes are 16t and 34t rear.
I just installed this last weekend so it is not broke in yet then i will do a top speed run and re post. I will say the few miles I rode I got on it once and got to 65mph with no problem!

I do not plan on running fan for the oil cooler I will monitor engine temps and see but think it will be fine without it!

For exhausts search for Honda Dax or z50 undermount exhausts. The only key thing is that the ZS190CC has the starter on the bottom instead of at the top. You'll need to have a low enough neck to clear the starter.

Popular one that a lot of people are using is the Kepspeed Loop GP1 Exhaust.

I'd really be into this swap if the 190 engine wasnt close to a grand ,and likely will be after you buy another exhaust and so forth and complete all the doo dads to really finish the swap.Just isnt in my budget atm but I still think its a super cool swap in.,and you'd be able to smoke Groms and still be a thousand or two under the cost of a new stock Grom .

There are bore kits that will work with the OEM engine.

Some have also swapped a 140cc engine over before the ZS190cc was widely known/available. the 140cc swap is more around 500 if I'm not mistaken.

Problem is, if you go through the hassle of getting a new engine and swapping it... may as well save and do the ZS190cc. You get 5 speed, 190cc, possibility of 4V swap, availability of 212cc bore kit, etc.

Oh yeah, right now I'd say it was worth it for nothing more than the 190cc and most importantly that 5th gear. ,in no way bashing the swap , mostly just crying because i don't have the grand to do it atm lol

If you look at the VM22 carb "manifold" (the tube that connects the carb to the engine), it's pretty rough. Could probably port it a little and polish it up...

Exhaust does a good bit. The stock exhaust is noticeably heavier than the aftermarket exhausts. Aftermarket are bigger diameter as well.

If you can pick up a bore kit for cheap... may as well. :P That way you can always sell your old engine when you go 190.

Searched the site, but couldn’t find this thread. Google found it <eye roll>

I’m going to wait until my 125 develops a problem that requires me to drop the engine, but it feels soooo sloow, and i only have like 4 miles on it.

The hazards of racing my SV650 two days before my Vader was delivered, lol.
