Remarkable that the headlight and bucket appear to be in good shape... Usually they are the first thing to get broken!

I wonder what happened to the tank and the seat. There was no sign of them.
One turn signal still exists too. The rest of the bike is pretty much there.

Those hubs will be worth something on eBay.
My buddy had the same bike when we were kids, and the kicker return spring broke easily, but required that the case halves be separated for repair (IIRC). I wonder if this kicker return spring broke, causing the kicker to drop, and it subsequently caught on something and broke off.

The hubs appear to be in good shape, Allen. If the rims are good, you only need to buy new spokes. If you send me the hubs, I will lace and true the wheels for you.

Please remind me. What year and model bike is this? I will do some research, and see if I can find spokes for you. If you have time, please take some more photographs of both wheels, and see if the rims are in good shape.
Do the rims have visible markings? If you need to replace the rims, you might be able to get some good, inexpensive, Warp9 rims. Spud

The front rim is very rusty. I will have to get some more details on the wheels.
The bike is 1970 CB100. Used wheels may be more cost effective, but building some would give me aluminum rims. Right now there is no funding for this project.

I took a quick look, and OEM front spokes cost about $1.25 apiece. OEM rear spokes cost $2.00 apiece. The rear rim is size 2.50-18, and looks very similar to a typical Chinese hub. I can't find the front rim size. Spud

I think the front is an 18" also. If I get funding maybe we will be building up a set.
Also it may be that we will want to change to larger brakes. The cb100 likely had a top speed of about 50mph. 200cc should get us 70mph. Those brake hubs are pretty small. I am going to watch for an engine donar cycle.

I vote for a Mad Max Apocalypse build.

An apocalyse build has possibilities... The bike will be light enough to carry across a creek, and 200cc can help you easily escape from zombies.

I know I will have to be patient but this is going to be a great thread!
Youy may want to PM Sprint 66 (Steve) for parts suggestions and help. He is more into Twins but I bet he would be happy to help with parts and information on this project.

I need to contact Steve. Maybe he knows of some less than perfect parts that people don't want for restorations.
