Awesome Mudflap! Thanks! Saves me the tear down....not that it's a big deal, but i have two other bikes down right now and was dreading disabling another.

Reverse LED's

Got the switch yesterday so I tinkered in the garage today.
Since they are on the back of the quad, I opted to put the switch in the side/rear, below the seat. Out of the way for the type of switch and also, easy access to the wiring and battery area under the seat.

Carb feedback

2LZ I was wondering if you got the Mikuni installed with the new jets and if you have any feedback on it? What did you end up going with for Main?

I am tempted to buy Laurie the Mikuni VM26 that Weld recommended but then I need to also get jets for them as well? The stumbling and struggling to start is unbearable with the PZ27

Yep...a while back. I got this:

http://www.amazon.com/MIKUNI-VM26-Ca...ilpage_o04_s00

and a 115 main and a 30 pilot. Turned the mixture about 1.75 turns out, and the slide clip in the fourth position. (second from the bottom) Seems to work well so far even though it's not broke in yet.

Here's the link to the jets. Fires right up now, ice cold. I didn't even bother to hook up the cable choke and use the "click" positions on the carb lever.

http://jetsrus.com/a_jet_kit_atv/yam...M200_moto4.htm

How's the sprocket coming along? Do you know if it's been made yet?

I received the sprocket, I did not put it on yet but I can at the very least take a picture of it and show you what it looks like wednesday night when I work on it next. I loosened up the carrier and was not able to get the chain off, but just eyeballing things, I can see that there is no more room under the mud guard for a larger sprocket without modifications. I also think this has one of the crappiest chains on it, but what do I know?

Thank you for the links, i wish I had ordered this off Amazon, but i used Welds link and picked up the carb off ebay. I will grab the jets, I think maybe I should call them first, but being in Georgia we really do not have any sea level to speak of and just rolling hills. Not sure when you speak about the 4th clip space down, but the 1.75 turns means I take the idle screw and screw it close then back it out that many turns? This will be my first carburetor to mess with. Seems fairly straight forward, so I will give it a shot.

What is funny to me is I really do not enjoy riding quads, but i like tinkering on hers haha!

I walked down to my car since I remembered I left this in the back. Here are some shots of it pre instal. Really thinking I should add a chain when I am down there...

Are you kidding!? Wrenching on them is most of the fun for me! I just use the Rhino as a work mule. When the quad comes out, so does the weedeater, the shovels, axe, etc...(that's what the gun racks are for). If I want fun, I get on the two wheelers!

Carb 1A: The slide clip. You will need to take the old slide off the throttle cable and put the Mikuni slide on it. Loosen the cable completely up at the throttle control at the bars and then you'll need to work the slide spring up out of the slide and undo the cable. You'll get this technique with practice. I usually cuss a bit with my "ham fists". Inside the new Mikuni slide is a little retainer clip that holds the needle in. Needle nose plyers usually gets that right out. The needle has a tiny c-clip on it and there are 5 slots on the needle. That clip dictates how far down in the main jet the tip of that needle is oriented. They usually come set in the 3rd (middle) slot. Move the little c-clip down a slot to the 4th position to lift the needle out of the main just a wee bit. This helps richen it up a bit and really helps the throttle response.
If your stock carb is like mine, they used RED loctite on the big slide nut! That was a B--ch to get off! I had to use channel locks. Hopefully it's just a C.A.R.B. thing and not standard procedure.

The idle mixture screw is the one that points straight up next to the float bowl. Turn it all the way in, counting turns, just until it stops. Ten, back it back out 1.75 turns. That way, if you need to adjust it later, you know where it is. It's much easiler to do on the bench as opposed to on the quad.

Wow! Nice sprocket! Can you get a measure on the teeth to see if it's a 520 or a 428? Hard to tell by the "thumb gauge".
I need to dig up the contact info...

Funonemax.. we all like the tinkering part and learning about, especially the reward of simple successes all low costs. Most of this stuff is mechanical and does not need programming with a laptop like so much systems use today. If we do need a computer we just have to boot up a version of humanbeing, 2lz, or spud rider 2.0

286 architecture may indicate slower processing time but not incorrect.

Sometimes my attempts at humor gets me in trouble

No trouble at all!...LOL! I have two viscious X-wives and am the youngest of three country brothers. I've been whooped by the best, believe me! ;-) The skin don't get much thicker.
