Zstar 250 atv engine wiring help!

I have a quad I've been rebuilding and put a zstar 250 engine in it ! But have been having issues with wiring .
I've got spark now but uugh its a mess .
It's been sitting for a week now due to frustration.
I'd really like to get it going as my son is coming for rest of summer and would like to ride with him . anyone have some time to gimme some pointers please I'd be thankful

The standard Vertical engine wiring diagrams found at http://www.hooperimports.com/showpages.asp?pid=1013 may help you. Colors don't always match but you should be able to trace out the basics.
