I don't give a flying pig fart about the fact that my Hawk is made in China.

I hold no illusions that there are some borderline comical quality elements to the cheaper bikes like the Hawk.

That being said...

All of this stuff is documented. ALL of it. At this point if anybody buys into a Hawk or any of the other cheaper bikes they should know exactly what they are getting into. Coming on here to complain about it is just going to get the exact responses you have received.

As far as these bikes being junk... I put over 4000 miles on my first Hawk which had way less attention paid to it than my current one before it too was stolen by some Nebraska meth addicts (most likely Carter Lake meth heads but that is splitting hairs). Never fell apart. It had a couple of issues related to the electrical because the connectors and wiring used on the wiring harnesses of most of these bikes is super cheap.

My second bike is holding together fine so far.

In both bikes cases I tore them down damn near to frame and motor and put them back together during assembly.

You get out of them what you put in.

By the way - not sure if you are aware but this forum is called Chinariders... Being full of a bunch of people that like the bikes they own shouldn't be such a shocker.

Not much in the way of 2stroke available, and its expensive today.

But GPX TSE250 is 40hp with a 6 speed tranny, and has a phenomenal frame with fully adjustable suspension, and its liquid cooled!!!

Is it worth $5000? I don't know, the alternatives (KTM, etc) are nearly twice the price. And they are always fixing them!!

In regards to the fuel level sensor and float.

Yes there should be a float on the end of it.

The fact that you are getting no resistance readings from the float sender is also interesting.

I would almost say you got a total dud from the factory. You may have been able to get it replaced for free during the initial warranty period that most of these sellers offer but at this point it would be moot.

The CSC TT250 Tank sending unit does work if you can't get that one to work. Yes it is going to be more money but it is an option.

Apology accepted, I can see people trying to get their little digs in from the "keyboard tough guy" perspective as we speak, yours was not even the worst, and you had Cajones enough to apologize,

Am I trashing chinese , absolutely, do I ride one yup So I can sit on that saddle and be mad when parts fall off, I have that right.

I came asking for help and provided a bit of foreground and I am getting flack because I speak the truth, although in todays society if your not "woke" then your in real trouble. I cannot speak about how something is made poorly, because in todays world if we dont speak about it we can run around pretending its not an issue.

I appreciate the apology, once the "armchair bikers" settle down , I hope to get some solid info!

Thanks for some solid info, yes I read your above reply, I know the title of the forum, I am also a chino rider, so I get they break , I wasnt looking for anyone to go to all this length to fight with me (pig fart that was hilarious)

As for a dud who knows, I think they are all 'duds" once the miles get on them, out of the crate their hondas lol!!!!!

So there was a float! Ok I need to find some pics of this thing!

As for the sender I hope I am doing it right, I put the ohm meter on resistance 2k ohm I think, and one lead on the positive and another on the negative, all I got was OL for the reading, there could be more to this puzzle, I may need to take the sender apart!

Come on, NO WAY, you got yours stolen too! Of All the people to meet, Mine was taken in Lincoln (Methtown) Nebraska, they circled it for a 5 day straight casing before they cut the straps off the back of the tiny home and loaded it into a truck.

I got the call when security was doing their rounds, woke me up at 5 am, called police,

I put an ad for a reward out on Lincoln classifieds, and three days after i had flown back to Phoenix I get a text from a guy saying its in his neighbors driveway, gave me the address but would not go over there to verify, i called the cops and they slow walked it and never went over there

When I returned to Lincoln after the holidays I went knocking with a louisville slugger and my Keltec in my waistband, as soon as i identified my bike i told everyone in the house to stay put, and i called the popo, they took them into custody and gave me my "shell" back, but they released them later, only for them to steal a truck, and then two weeks later a BMW.

The DA called and asked me if i would lower restitution since they had no money, i said "pay or they go to jail" to my knowledge they are both still in jail and they have a judgement against me for $2000 but I saw those guys, short of a miracle from the lord, they will never work an honest job in their lives!

As for the break in the tank, yours is the first I have seen and if it happened to me I would try to find a larger tank anyhow, but if push came to shove I would repair it myself. You would just need to degass the tank before trying to weld it back together and I think this 10% ethanol is not helping the tanks at all.

First my name is not Dick, Its Jay, as for the welding your partially correct except these tanks have double casing, in order for a weld or brazing to hold they would have to weld it from the inside and outside, the tank was already de gassed. I suspect your right about the Ethanol, it is possibly the reason the chinese weld broke down!

HAWK gas tank sending Unit

I think JerryHawk250 got one of these off Amazon and put it on his bike.

https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-a18010...s%2C260&sr=8-4

or maybe it was this one

https://www.amazon.com/Uxcell-a18011..._t3_B07BGX7T2M

The CSC sending Unit I put on my HAWK.

I second all the comments about attempting to fix the broken gas tank. A good thing about inexpensive China Bikes is there is not much to loose by trying ANY fix.

the first unit looks ok, but the second, Jeff Besos has lost his mind, how is PRIME SHIPPING 2 day September 21st, we all know where that is coming from, and its not an Amazon warehouse!

Thanks for the tips, I would like to reuse mine, but maybe I should just add it up to more wallet spreading for the chino bike (it truly is a theme!)

I noticed nobody responding has said anything about the bike being bought used with 1500 miles on the clock ,so there is no way to know how the bike was treated before Jay got his hands on it ,then a pack of wild thieves stole it and had their way with it before it was found in pristine condition with a full tank of gas and new tires .I am not trying to pile on to the conversation but with at least two totally unknown owners and riders we really do not know just how badly the bike was treated .
On another note ,who cares about the fuel level gauge ?isit too hard to look in the gas tank to see what’s inside ? It’s honestly an unneeded accessory that bikes have done without for over 100 years ,how lazy have we become ?
I would just install your new tank and go if you are uncomfortable re installing the fuel cock .

He bought it new and put the 1500 miles on it himself. I read his previous threads on this bike. Also, nowhere does he say he got it back from the thieves in pristine condition and with new tires and full tank.

Agree that the fuel gauge is a non-issue, practically speaking. But some people tinker to learn.

to clarify, yes i put all miles on it (there were 2 on it when it came out of the preassembled crate) after i retightened every bolt and nut they were supposed to tighten in the PDI lol.

Yes it was stolen and abused and i brought it back from the grave.

I agree with the previous poster about a sending unit, to me it was more about fixing the broken stuff then "having to have' it, since i did without it so long, after all isnt that what reserve is for lol

to all of you who have been helpful, i ordered that sending unit, and will reassemble the tank when it arrives on monday! I will update when its done!

Highly recommend to anyone to put a tracker on your bike.

Keeps you aware of where the bike goes and gives you a way to send the cops directly to the meth head thieves houses.

Reading this thread, I just clicked on mine to see where it is.

Safe and sound. Right where I left it. (8000 miles away)
