Not surprising, since they likely make more Hondoid motors than anything else.

I was thinking the same. Zongshen manufactures 4 million engines every year, and I'm confident most of them are clones of Honda engines.

Do you plan on switching the front wheel to a 17-inch rim? I suspect the stock, 18-inch front wheel will work better off road than a 17-inch front wheel.

The RX3 is definitely going to facilitate trips such as the backroad discovery routes (BDRs). Currently, four BDR routes have been established.

Arizona

Colorado

http://www.backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com/COBDR

Utah

Washington

http://www.backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com/WABDR

Idaho will be added to the list next month.

Definately will do the 17" rear that will be available from CSC for around $200. Would like to d a 21" up front. I had Woody's build me a 21" for my XT1200Z and it made a world of difference off road. I think I will try to build my own 21" this time as $500 a pop from Woody's is a bit above my pay grade these days.

Now to find a hub for the RX3. Any ideas?

Would also like to echo Culcanes sentiments as well. Spud your tireless interest and enthusiasim for this bike is making it a lot easier for those of us who have never owned let alone ridden a China bike.

Thanks,

Great minds think alike. I am actually planning the UTBDR for over the 4th of July this year. Was planning on taking the CRF, but who knows, if the RX3 proves just as capable off road I may take it!

Thanks,
Maybe give CSC a call to see if the have front hub for sale? They mentioned that they were carrying all parts to assemble a RX-3, though not sure if they have all these parts in stock yet?

Ditto to what Calcune and Wolftrax stated...cheers to Spud on the tireless research!

Thanks,
Thank you for the kind words.

After the RX3 arrives, I'm sure we will quickly find solutions for a 21-inch front wheel. As of now, I can only guess. However, I think the the 21-inch front wheel from the Zongshen ZS150GY-10 could possibly fit the RX3.

Of course, one can always order custom spokes from Buchanan's, and lace a 21-inch rim to the stock front hub.

Thank you for your kind words.

I haven't seen only the front hub for sale. However, one can certainly order a complete, RX3 front wheel from Taobao.

I don't think the BDR routes are very technical. I'm confident the RX3 can handle all of the BDR routes very well.

The WABDR is on my hit list. I'm really hoping to be able to ride it next year.

Unless there is a need for two dissimilar front wheels, this option makes good sense.

I can't tell you how many times I've read similar comments about Spud over the years. Very often, new members would arrive and reference a Zongshen search on Google, only to be directed to Spud's amazing threads.

What helps even more is Spud's organizational skills, since the Zong threads are so easy to navigate.

Spud is the man!

Egads; my head is starting to swell. Thank you for you kind words, Weld. I don't know anyone on these forums who works harder to help others than you.
