Help with Tire Sizes for Apollo DB36 Deluxe

As far as why they put a 100 width tire when they state a 110... a 110/80-17 tire is a goofball size. A 100/80-17 is actually a more common size.

A 110/80 is also about .6" larger in diameter than a 100/80. 23.3" vs 23.9"

The good news is, there are other options for sizing out there. As far as dual sport tires, you could run a 4.6 x 17 front and a 5.10 x 17 rear. The Shinko 244 and 700 both come in these sizes and they easily meet the rim widths in question.

The only catch to these tires would be that they are a bit larger in diameter.
The rear isn't too much of an increase, A 5.10 x 17 is 25.6 vs the 130/80-17 at 25.2 - or 0.4" larger diameter. The front on the other hand is 1.46 inches larger in diameter than the 100/80-18, and .86 inches larger than the 110/80-18 size. Width for both should be fine. 5.10 width is more or less the same as a 130 tire and the 4.6 is only .33" wider total ( about 5/32nd wider per side) than a 110 width.

This is a DRZ Sumo with the 244's in the 5.10 x 17 and 4.6 x 17 sizes. I think it looks good personally, nice chunky tire setup

The 4.6 Tires do not fit into the front forks of the Apollo db36 not enough clearance
