RX3 clutch bearings vs AJP PR5 clutch bearings

Hello to all on this forum.

I have been working with clutch bearing problems on my 2014 Ajp Pr5. I noticed that Pr5 and RX3 shares the same engine zongshen nc250(zs177mm). Is it correct that RX3 has needle bearings between clutch basket and main shaft? Like shown on clutch assembly- topic http://www.chinariders.net/showpost....12&postcount=4.

My Ajp has just a big bushing and bronze bearing between main shaft and clutch basket.

Now just after 150h/3500km of hard driving bronze bearing is worn out and engine rattles and shakes at idle. Although I have serviced the bike well and changed oil (i-ride moto 10w50) every 350km. I'm thinking to update bronze bearing with needle bearings like on RX3, but I haven't found a correct part numbers.
I think needle bearing would be much more durable than bronze bearing.

The needle bearings you are looking at are from a Honda crf250x.
No idea if they can be retro fitted to NC250 engine??
I have a gasgas cami which is the same as your pr5.
Not had to remove the cluch cover , yet.
I have a similar milage as yourself and do hear a slight bit of knock at tickover which disappears when I pull the cluch lever in.

Yes, my bike has that light knocking sound also when idling and it disappear when I use clutch. This bearing makes much heavier noise and its not depending of clutch position. Clutch basket is wobbling about 3-4 mm from side to side and i think it might damage the plastic gears of oil pump.

Ouch, might damage the drive gear on crankshaft as well.
Take it the clutch centre nut has not come loose?
Is it just the bush that has worn or is the shaft showing any signs of wear?
Are there any oil feeds to this bush that might be blocked?
Should be an easy fix but you are right that needle bearings would be more substantial.

I suggest you contact CSC, and inquire if they can sell you the needle bearings. The part number is shown at the link below.

Also, you should read the following thread.

http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...t=16000&page=2

Forum member Riceburner is replacing his clutch bearings with IKO bearings, part #KT 25-29-13.

Priced at $3 I don't think that is needle bearings?
This is the same drawing also used by ajp and gasgas and looks like the sleeve that would run inside the bronze bush.

Wonder why some have a proper bearing while some have a bush?

4rvid, can you give measurements for your bronze bush please.
Does the bronze bush run directly on the gearbox input shaft?
Or is there a spacer/sleeve that's fits over the shaft first that the bronze bush would run on?

You're welcome.

That is why I suggested you contact them for information.

Our RX3 bikes should have the needle bearings, and CSC should carry them as replacement parts. If this is the case, the parts diagram is inaccurate, and CSC will stock the needle bearings, with a different price. However, CSC will still need to know the part number to check their inventory. Nevertheless, I haven't pulled the clutch basket, so I can't verify my conjecture. That's why you need to contact CSC, and talk to them.

Thank you, HumanBeing. Can you please provide a Taobao link for the bearings?

Original bronze bushing is (id x od x length) 25x28x26mm. It's mounted to clutch basket. That part #2 is steel sleeve 20x25x26 and it mounts to transmission mainshaft. So the installation order is transmission main shaft => steel sleeve => bronze bush and clutch basket.

At AJP part list there is same picture as RX3 part list. And part #2 is steel sleeve 20x25x26 and part number is 22104-ME30-0000 so it's a same part.

Correct needle bearing is 25x28x26 to replace AJP bronze bushing. If 25x29x26 bearing fits to RX3 then it has to have bigger hole on the clutch basket.

Sleeve 22104-ME30-0000 is also the part number for gasgas.
Not able to find a 25x28x26.
25x29x13 is easily found but as you say the clutch drum might be to small?
Bronze bush would need more clearance than the needle bearing though, so might fit?
Hope mine hangs on in there.

As I said, I have not removed the clutch basket on my RX3 to verify the dimensions of the needle bearings. I am using the measurments provided by forum member Riceburner.

I would call CSC and ask them the dimensions of the clutch bearings, and whether the RX3 uses a different clutch basket. However, I know the CSC employees are currently very busy assembling and crating a shipment of new motocycles for delivery.
