Mods list? I'm new! And extra help?!

So I just recently got my 2015 250 hawk. Just don't know what I can do with it yet as far as modifications. I'm going to be doing an oil change pretty soon since I don't trust the last owner to have done so. Also, it started leaking oil and I'm guessing the oil levels are off but I'm just assuming?
A lot has happened since I got the bike. My nephew grabbed my key and lost it.
Now I need a replacement but don't know where to go for one...

Welcome, Rawwmbow! There are any number of upgrades available for your Hawk, where to start is really up to you. What you want to do with bike will determine the best place to start. At a minimum, the general consensus is to re-jet the carb, adjust the valves, and if you plan to use the Hawk on the street then replace the chain/sprockets. Most people here go with a 15/45 setup. Personally, I have 17/39 on my bike. Once you have that much done, the sky is really the limit. I've done the airbox mod, new exhaust, MSR shifter, digital dash, carb jet, chain and sprockets, added brushguards and USB hookups, put on a phone mount, replaced the footpegs, new sparkplug, pretty much everything that can be done to these bikes. As for a new key, you can got to www.therps.net and order a whole new lockset for the low, low price of $35. Let us know how everything works out, and please post some pictures!

That's a sharp bike. May we see the other side?

Thanks!! Would you happen to know how or where I can get a tutorial on how to replace the steering lock? I bought the new one with the key. But I locked my bike with the key lock. Now I just need to know how to take that apart

Might be a little heavy handed, but it should do the trick!

I've never looked at that part of the bike in any particular detail. I'll have a look when I mozy back over to the shop and see what I can figure out for you.

Yup, thats what I got. I have a 110 main jet. I'm planning on upping the pilot to 25 this spring. My needle is on the highest position. Once the 25 goes in I'm sure the needle will come down. Right now I really like the way the bike runs so I'm in no rush.

RB - I went and had a look at my Hawk, and here's what I've worked out. If you remove the headlight cowling, and perhaps the headlight, you should have easy access to the two bolts that hold the ignition assembly in place n the bottom of the upper triple tree. As far as locking the bike up, that's easily solved with the new key when it arrives. All the locks for the key cover are the same. It's a small magnet embedded in the key head that allows you to turn the cover out of the way. Once your new key comes in, just use it as you normally would. Once you have the cover opened, it should be a simple matter of swapping out the assemblies and you're off and riding. Let us know how it turns out.

It worked! Thanks for the help!
I know I ask a lot but I have one more question, I ordered a MIKUNI VM26 Carburetor Quad ATV Dirt Pit Bike Dirtbike 250CC Carb 30MM but the receipt was titled MIKUNI Carburetor Carb VM 30mm VM26 For Honda ATV Quad PIT Dirt Bike 125cc 140cc. I'm not too familiar with the differences between them other than the cc's. Would the carborator still work on the bike or should I return it?

Glad it worked out for you. Did you have any issues getting the old key assembly swapped out?
