Puzey Rocky 125/Jumper 125/Orion FX1 Experience?

Hello everyone...it has been a while.

Over the last year or so I've been blinders-on for a '97 CR250 GNCC/TORCS bike project. The result has been a fun, fast bike that I can't see myself ever selling.

However, it is also a bike that is too "serious" for me to enjoy when riding with my kids who are on a TTR50 and KLX110, respectively. So, I'm looking at something on the complete opposite of the spectrum from my CR. Something I can campsite/cow-trail on with my kids at a family place...and maybe noodle on for novice trials stuff.

So...I'm checking out Orion's FX1 125, which is sold around the world as the Clevaland FXX, the Puzey Rocky FX125 or the Jumper 125. There seems to be quite a bunch in the way of Russian/Eastern-European YouTube content on them that I can't understand as an English speaking American.

Outside of the people saying, "those look like fun"...is there anyone here on the boards who has had experience with this platform? What is durability like? What are people running for a rear 21 tire when the stock rubber wears out? What is the general riding/ownership experience like for these in a pure-dirt world? Would it work as a beginner trials platform as well as a camp/cow-trail bike?

Looks like the Orion FX1 125 is running the same 80/100-21" Tires front and rear. Should be easy to find tires.

I know there is front-tire rubber in that size...just wasn't sure what someone would use as a driven tire. I guess there wouldn't be a difference front and rear if I'm running a trials tread.

Those tires look like the same thread pattern as the front tire on my Hawk. I think they are 80/110 21" . For trail riding you should be good. Bike looks like it will be perfect for that.

I would think with under 10hp... it really don't matter
what end the tyre was designed for..

kool little bike could get it into some really kool places...
lift drag it when needed...

...so does anyone have any experience with it?

Tons of people in various places have told me it looks cool, and I've figured out future rubber if I need it.

Can anyone give actual-use feedback on durability, reliability, performance on the trail, build quality, "character" of the bike from more than a test ride?

I will not buy "cold", so is there anyone who can help?

the Chinese might have a winner...
there are a few company's that have tried to
build this type of bike.... "pushbike on steroids"
all are way over prised..
FX is the most well known one..

That is crazy money Pete ,these things kind of remind me of those motoped things but a little tougher withought the bicycle wheels ,but for 5-6000.00 bucks no thanks ever .

I did find a short "in-use" video of the bike under the Cleveland FXx name being run on an indoor practice track. Seems decent.

Finally seeing these for sale that are not a ccw branded one for half the price, I would say go for it. I'm sure you can source all the extra parts you needed from them. I might pick one up myself.

On mychinamoto.com, a member (many members are ex-pats from around the world living and working in China) had one in China and loved it. I believe his actually branded as a CCW and had the street equipment. He enjoyed it a lot from what I remember. You could possibly find his thread. Otherwise, just as you did not want any of us to state..."It looks like a really cool bike..."

FX5? orion FX125? I looked at the sites on these, looks interesting! The fx5 web site about 4300.00 vs 1000.00 for the orion. Has anyone done a write up on the FX125.....I cant find much info. As I said, looks interesting!

yeah...looks like the same bike from the same factory...that is not a common frame design, so it must be coming out of the same building as the Cleveland units I'd think.

Sad thing is that I contacted Cleveland saying that I'm not a "bottom-feeder," but I'd like to know what makes theirs $3K better than the Orion unit. Better warranty? Better parts support? Better tech support? Higher quality components? I was not cutting on them, but rather giving them an opportunity to sell me on their company and their product.

Their reaction was to slam "copycats who stole their designs" (though who came to market where in the world is questionable) and to say that their price is worth it because of the R&D they put in to create it before it was ripped off.

I'm not into buying to cover their costs, I'm into buying if their product...or their company...is that much better. When I clarified that, they just got pissed and screamed at me via email...likely because they couldn't legitimately sell themselves as better in any way that justifies their price.

So...I just have to decide if I'm going to be the early-adopter, or if I'm going to wait until I dig up some legitimate feedback on the Orion unit.

I think CCW has taken their designs from some bikes that are already being produced in china, add a tiny bit of their own aesthetics and call it their design. their ace models you see all over alibaba and the fx125 is clearly not their design. As for being an early adopter, someone has gotta do it!

SkiDoo sleds, NOW 2 TTR225, and a BMS250. A couple of quotes (we are not farmers) "I don't get off the farm much" "Am too old school" I call the china bikes "the china syndrome".
