They actually make one for the Rhino? Didn't know you could do that... thought Mudflap was talking about a different ATV

The same one fits all CG engines, motorcycle or quad.

Nice ....was unaware you could do that.

Got me wondering if it would be a good mod for me. I'm mostly in 1st gear and 2nd some (towing).... not really getting much of an air cooling effect if you catch my drift.

LOL 2LZ mod yours and put up a tutorial so I know how to do it.

My Rhino is often called upon to haul my fat butt slowly up long steep hills on hot days. The oil cooler does seem to make a difference. I put a couple muffin fans on the cooler but eventually removed them because they got clogged with dirt.

Thanks Mudflap... yeah I'm a little concerned because I'm way out of specifications on what I'm using the Rhino for. Don't get me wrong it works great, but I want to take care of it so it lasts a long time.

My first repair on the Rhino

I noticed that my neutral & reverse lights were flickering and or not working at times, I found the culprit was the ignition key switch was sloppy and on it's way out. I ordered a brand new one off eBay, bought and delivered for a whopping $5.25. Easy peasy to install too. I can't imagine anything else being that cheap and easy to fix than this machine.

The Rhino passed 400 hrs a few days ago and is running as good as ever.

One mod I forgot to mention that has worked great is the chain roller. I removed the roller and spring then put a piece of rubber gas hose over the pivot pin so the chain wouldn't hit it and make noise. I also used a piece of an old timing belt to wrap around the front of the swing arm, securing it with a hose clamp just in front of the first brace tube, as it would be on a standard motorcycle. No more noisy roller or rubbing chain.

Do you have a picture of this mod Mudflap? Sounds like a good one.

I'll brush the dirt off so it's visible and get a pic soon. A serpentine belt would work just as well as a timing belt.

This is Mudflap Code for "full detail"! ;-)

400 hours, that's awesome!....and from the pics, those are not easy hours. These little CG's really are something. All you have to do is throw a quart of oil at them once in a while.

Riding the Rhino to the mailbox this morning when the engine just died while at idle. Good spark, fuel, but no compression. Pulled the carb, squirted in some WD40, and blasted it with compressed air. Compression returned and it started up no problem.

Problem was a flake of carbon stuck under the intake valve. This happened once on the ATA250D so I knew what to look for. I thought the previous owner of the ATA 250 probably carboned it up by running it with the choke on or something but that was not the case with the Rhino.

If your CG engine ever suddenly looses compression, try blowing compressed air and WD40 or similar into the intake while cranking the engine. That will usually dislodge a flake of carbon on the intake valve.
